Welcome to Jillian Abendroth – a new Ellison Lab PhD student in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics!
Jill received her B.S. in Molecular Genetics at University of Rochester and M.S. in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Science from Auburn University. Jill’s research interests predominantly lie in the genetics of undomesticated and nontraditional crops, having experience evaluating traits associated with adaptative germination and nutrient accumulation in wild barley.
Within the Ellison lab, Jill plans to evaluate the genetic mechanisms attributing to seed trait diversity and the genetic variation conducive to the efficacy of hemp for different end uses.
