This past week, Graduate Research Assistant Rebecca Arias attended the Bean Improvement Cooperative (BIC) and North American Pulse Improvement Association (NAPIA) International Biennial Meeting in Lincoln, Nebraska. Rebecca presented on her research on “Validation of Molecular Markers for Aphanomyces Root Rot Resistance in Common Bean” for which she received a Travel Award to attend!
Independent Plant Breeder and frequent Ellison Lab collaborator, Ken Kimiecik, who works closely with Rebecca on her research projects, received the BIC Meritorious Service Award for his extensive contributions to the field.
